In parallel with its commitment to the creation and performance of artworks, Salamanda Tandem devotes itself also to professional education, training and consultancy. In 1994 it began a series of Annual Training Programmes that today attract national interest and have brought long-term recognition and support from such bodies as the Arts Council, Sound Sense and the Foundation for Community Dance. Since 1990 it has maintained links with Trent University; is closely associated with Leeds University researching into the development of a post graduate programme for artists, and works alongside local authority's such as Nottingham County Council.
