Currently Salamanda Tandem employs a wide range of artists with international reputations : music and dance are at the heart of its activities, but the company also embraces sculpture, photography, film, poetry and the visual arts. All of its artists are eager to cross the largely artificial boundaries between each discipline. Orientated towards performance, the company specialises in collaborative, multi-media events. These may be exclusively the original work of its artists, but more often they are performances nurtured in collaboration with people unaccustomed to creating their own artwork. The work may be seen by a large public, as the several hundred who attended Triptych at Lincoln Cathedral in 2002; or else witnessed in private venues by an intimate audience. Whatever the circumstances, Salamanda Tandem aims to create work of depth and quality that both rewards and challenges those it involves.
