a:w:p Arts Work With People Project
A Leeds University and Salamanda Tandem collaboration

AWP was formed in July 2001, with a research award to Mick Wallis (Professor of Performance and Culture, Leeds University) from the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme, supervised by the Institute of Learning and Teaching for the Higher Education Funding Council for England. AWP crosses boundaries to achieve self expression and self realisation for people who are socially excluded. At the centre of AWP is Salamanda Tandem's cross art form practice and person-centred approach.
The project aims to conduct an enquiry into rationales, protocols and contexts for the accredited training of professionals in arts work with people within the HE sector.
