Nottingham Prison

A 12 month dance project where dancer Isabel Jones worked with men on life sentences at the prison a day a week. During this time, Isabel worked with poet Tony Baker, dancer Keith Barlow, composer Duncan Chapman and visual artist Janet Flynn. A group of 12 students from the Shepherd Special School joined the men at the prison at frequent intervals united by their interest in dance. The Independent Newspaper wrote about the work which was the subject of a documentary in May 1993. The project was made possible through the energy and imagination of Don Mc Clure Nottingham's first dance animateur.
